INTRODUCTION
The Body Parts tab provides a method to identify the body parts selections that an administrator can select from when reporting or investigating an incident. Selections will appear in the Body Part section of the Injuries tab of the incident report when an administrator reports or investigates an incident.
The Incident Management System (IMS) comes with 28 pre-existing body parts. We recommend that you review the existing body parts list. You can modify the existing body parts to come up with the selections you want your administrators to use.

CREATE A BODY PART
If you want to create unique body parts, you must change your location to the establishment FIRST before you follow the steps below. Please refer to the Change Location article to learn how to change the location. Repeat this step for every establishment you want to have unique body parts for.
Follow these steps to create a new body part:
- Click the Administration tab at the top of the screen.
- Click Incident Management, then Configuration on the left menu bar.
- The screen defaults to the Incident Categories tab.
- Click the Body Part tab.
- Click the Add button at the top of the Body Parts tab.
- Type the new body part name in the new blank field.
- Click the Save button.
- The body part will be added and listed alphabetically.
- Repeat these steps until all the desired body parts have been added.
EDIT A BODY PART
Follow these steps to edit a body part:
- Click the Administration tab at the top of the screen.
- Click Incident Management, then Configuration on the left menu bar.
- The screen defaults to the Incident Categories tab.
- Click the Body Part tab.
- Search and locate the body part to be changed.
- Type the new body part name to replace the existing name.
- Click the Save button.
- The body part will be added and listed alphabetically.
- Repeat these steps until all the desired body parts have been edited.
DELETE A BODY PART
Before you delete a body part, click the Show Usage toggle at the top of the Body Parts tab to YES. A column will display that indicates the number of times you have used that category. The IMS will not allow you to delete an body part if it has been used. Deleting a body part that has been used will affect open and completed incident reports.
Follow these steps to delete a body part:
- Click the Administration tab at the top of the screen.
- Click Incident Management, then Configuration on the left menu bar.
- The screen defaults to the Incident Categories tab.
- Click the Body Parts tab.
- Search and locate the body part to be deleted.
- Click the delete button (trash bucket icon) to the left of the body part.
- Click the YES button on the Confirmation screen.
- Click the Save button.
- The body part will be deleted from the list.
- Repeat these steps until all the desired body parts been deleted.
