Qualifications and Training Programs are the same features in the LMS. Qualification is the term used in the Enterprise LMS. Training Program is the term used in the MSHA LMS. This article will refer to Qualifications and Training Programs as Qualifications. The Express LMS is a basic feature LMS and does not include these activities: quizzes, tasklists, classes, surveys, and signature activity. It also does not include qualifications. Express LMS customers should ignore references to these items. |
INTRODUCTION
When you import or create any training content (documents, CBTs, videos, quizzes, task lists, surveys, class, or events), the LMS automatically stores the file and creates an activity within the LMS. Exception: An Event does not create a file, only an activity.
This article focuses on editing, updating, previewing, and deleting an activity. There are many other reasons to manage activity. Refer to the Activities: Manage Activities article to learn how to:
- Attachments: Add, view, or delete attachments added to the activity
- Location: Change an activity's location
- Re-complete Activities: Force user's to re-complete an activity
- Repository: Change the file repository the activity is linked to
- Thumbnail: Add, remove or replace a thumbnail displayed on the user's Training and Catalog tab when in small or large icon view
EDIT AN ACTIVITY
Follow these steps to edit an activity:
- Click the Administration tab at the top of the screen
- Click the Activities link, then Activities on the left menu bar
- Refer to the Using Search article to search and locate the desired activity
- Click the Edit icon to the left of the desired activity
- Make the desired changes on the Edit Activity screen
- Click the Save button
- Click the Close button after the Changes Saved confirmation appears
UPDATE AN ACTIVITY

PREVIEW AN ACTIVITY
The LMS provides two methods to preview an activity:
- Preview the current version
- Preview previous versions
Follow the steps below to preview the current or previous versions.
Preview an Activity (current version)
Follow these steps to preview the current version of an activity:
- Click the Administration tab at the top of the screen
- Click the Activities link, then Activities on the left menu bar
- Search and locate the desired item following the directions provided in the Using Search article
- Click the Play button located to the left of the Activity name
- This will preview the current version of the activity
Preview an Activity (previous versions)
Follow these steps to preview the previous version(s) of an activity:
- Click the Administration tab at the top of the screen
- Click the Activities link, then Activities on the left menu bar
- Search and locate the desired item following the directions provided in the Using Search article
- Click the Edit button
- Scroll down to the Activity Versions table.
- Click the Preview button located to the left of the desired activity version to view any archived versions of the activity.
DELETE AN ACTIVITY
Deleting an activity is generally discouraged as all user completion records associated with that activity will also be deleted.
Note: Deactivate the activity instead of deleting the activity. Refer to the Activities - Deactivate and Activate article for instructions to deactivate an activity.
Follow these steps to delete activity:
- Click the Administration tab at the top of the screen
- Click the Activities link, then Activities on the left menu bar
- Search and locate the desired item following the directions provided in the Using Search article
- Click the Delete button to the left of the desired activity name
Note: If the Delete button is inactive, you have not been assigned the Master administration role and will be unable to delete documents. - Click the Yes button on the Confirm Delete screen
- Click OK on the Delete Confirmation screen. The activity will be deleted from the LMS.
If an activity is deleted in error, please contact our support team. Support can generally restore the deleted activity and restore any user completion records associated with the activity.
