INTRODUCTION
This article will guide you through the process of editing and deleting asset groups and assets.
Please refer to the Assets: Overview article to learn more about how the asset feature can be used.
ASSET GROUPS: EDIT
Follow these steps to edit an asset group:
Note: Required entry fields are denoted in red. Optional entry fields are denoted in black.
- Click the Administration tab.
- Click Assets, then Asset Groups from the left menu.
- Search and locate the desired Asset Group to be edited.
- Click the Edit button to the left of the desired Asset Group.
- Location: Follow these steps to change a location:
- Click the Select button to the right of the location.
- Look For Drop Down: Click the down arrow to select the desired organization unit the asset group will be added to.
- Click the checkbox to the left of the desired organization unit.
- Click the Select button in the upper left corner of the screen.
- You will be returned to the Create Asset Group screen.
- Name: Change the name of the Asset Group. For example, Heavy Equipment
- Description: Add a description
- Supervisor: Follow these steps to add or change a supervisor
- Click the Select button to the right of Supervisor.
- Search and locate the desired supervisor.
- Click the checkbox to the left of the desired supervisor.
- Click the Select button in the upper left corner of the screen.
- You will be returned to the Create Asset Group screen.
- Click the Save button.
- Click the Close button on the right of the screen after getting the Asset Group confirmation.
- Repeat these steps for every asset group you would like to edit.
ASSET GROUPS: DELETE
Deleting an asset group is PERMANENT. Deleting an asset group will delete ALL of the assets included in that group. Before deleting an asset group, edit the assets included in the group to move them to a new Asset Group if you want to retain the assets in the current group. Please refer to the Assets: Edit section below to learn how to edit an asset.
Follow these steps to edit an asset group:
- Click the Administration tab.
- Click Assets, then Asset Group from the left menu.
- Search and locate the desired Asset Group to be edited.
- Click the Delete button to the left of the desired Asset Group.
- Click the YES button on the Confirm Delete screen
- Click the OK button on the Delete screen
- The Asset Group will no longer appear on the Asset Groups screen
ASSETS: EDIT

Follow these steps to edit an asset.
- Click the Administration tab.
- Click Assets, then Assets from the left menu.
- Assets are organized by asset group. To locate an asset; first, expand the asset group by clicking on the caret to the left of the asset group. A list of assets for that asset group will appear.
- Click the Edit button in the Actions column on the right side of the screen.
- Parent: Follow these steps to change the asset group (parent):
- Click the Select button to the right of the parent.
- Look For Drop Down: Click the down arrow to select Asset Group.
- Click the checkbox to the left of the desired asset group.
- Click the Select button in the upper left corner of the screen.
- You will be returned to the Edit Asset screen.
- Name: Change the name of the Asset. For example, Heavy Equipment
- Type: The type cannot be changed. If the Type is incorrect, you will have to delete the asset and create the asset again. In the LMS, there is no need to ever change the Type.
- Attributes: Follow these steps to add the QR Code to your assets:
Note: if you just need to change the number of the QR Code, type the new number and save.- Click the down arrow on the right of the Attributes drop-down list.
- Check the checkbox to the left of the QR Code.
- Click the Add button.
- Type in the QR Code. For example, you can make up your own QR Code OR, you can use the code that already exists on the piece of equipment.
- Relate Activities to an Asset: Please refer to Step 3: Relate Activity(ies) to Assets of the Assets- LMS: Add Assets and Associate Training Content article to learn how to relate activities to assets.
- Relate Qualifications to an Asset: Please refer to Step 4: Relate Qualifications to Assets of the Assets- LMS: Add Assets and Associate Training Content article to learn how to relate qualifications to assets.
- Click the Save button.
- Click the Close button on the right of the screen after getting the Asset confirmation.
- Repeat these steps for every asset you would like to edit.
ASSETS: DELETE
Deleting an asset is PERMANENT. Use care when deciding to delete an asset.
Follow these steps to delete an asset:
- Click the Administration tab.
- Click Assets, then Assets from the left menu.
- Assets are organized by asset group. To locate an asset; first, expand the asset group by clicking on the caret to the left of the asset group. A list of assets for that asset group will appear.
- Click the desired asset to be deleted so that the row is highlighted.
- Click the Delete button at the top of the screen.
- Click the YES button on the Confirm Delete screen
- Click the OK button on the Delete screen
- The Asset will no longer appear on the Assets screen
