Assets are used by the Learning Management System(LMS) to organize property owned by your company such as: vehicles, equipment, furniture and structures.
When the asset is created, a QR Code can be added to the asset. It can be printed and applied (taped or stuck) to the asset. Activities and qualifications can be associated to the QR Code. When the QR Code is scanned by any of our mobile apps, the associated training content will appear.
This feature is generally used as follows you have a large inventory of vehicles, equipment, etc. and you want to associate ALL the training related to it's operation and maintenance. This makes it easy to locate assigned training, activities to credit, and search and locate reference materials in our mobile apps.
- Assets are optional and can be added at any time.
- Follow the steps to set up your asset groups and assets and associate those assets to training content. Refer to the Assets - LMS: Add Assets and Associate to Training Content
- Create the Asset Group BEFORE creating assets
- Train your employees how to use the scan feature in each mobile app. Please refer to the following articles in the Convergence Mobile section of the Online Help Center for the articles available to help you learn how to use the Convergence Mobile Applications.
ASSET GROUPS AND ASSETS: DEFINED
The following provides a description of the difference between and asset group and an asset.
An asset group is created to categorize your assets. You can have one asset group for all your assets or you could have an asset group for each asset type.
For example, Motor Vehicles, Forklifts, Office Equipment, Property, etc. Or, you could just create one asset group called Equipment.
Prior to creating assets, you need to create the Asset Group(s) first to store the asset in.
An asset record is created for each vehicle, piece of equipment, or structure you would like to associate one or more activities and track and use for incident reporting purposes.
A QR Code can be added for each asset. Then, that QR Code can be associated to one or more activities or qualifications.
In the screenshot, an asset group has been created for each asset type: Equipment, Office Equipment and Vehicles. One asset has been added to each asset group.
The LMS Administrator can easily identify the assets that have been added and associate them to one or more activities and qualifications. Once the asset group has been created, the LMS Administrator can continue to add assets to the group.
