INTRODUCTION
Deactivating a training program or subject is the preferable alternative to deletion. You would deactivate a training programs and subjects when you no longer want to offer them as part of your training, it is outdated, or no longer applies to the work you do.
Note: Deleting a training program is generally discouraged as all completion records associated with that subject are also deleted.
When the training program or subject is deactivated:
- Completion records for user stay intact
- Will no longer appear on the user’s training tab as an assigned training program
- Will no longer be available to admins to assign to users
- Will no longer appear on reports; unless requested
- Can be activated at any time
DEACTIVATE A TRAINING PROGRAM
Follow these steps to deactivate a training program:
- Click the Administration tab at the top of the screen
- Click the Training Programs link, then Training Programs on the left menu bar
- Search and locate the desired training program following the directions provided the Using Search article
- Click the training program name to highlight the activity row
Note: To select multiple requirements, use Shift + Left Mouse click or Ctrl + Left Mouse click - Click the Other Actions button on the tool bar
- Select Deactivate Training Programs from the pull down menu
- Click the OK button on the Deactivate Training Program confirmation screen
Note:The training program will disappear from the Manage Training Programs screen. This is because the default view on the Manage Training Programs screen displays Active training programs only. Refer to the View Inactive Training Programsarticle below for instructions to view inactive training programs.
VIEW INACTIVE TRAINING PROGRAMS
The Manage Training Programs screen defaults to display active training programs only. Therefore, all search results will only display active training programs. The view can easily be changed to display inactive training programs.
Follow these steps to view inactive training program records:
- Click the Administration tab at the top of the screen
- Click the Training Programs link, then Training Programs on the left menu bar
- Click the Other Actions button on the tool bar
- Select Show Inactive Training Programs from the pull down menu
- A list of all inactive training programs will appear.
- Search and locate the training program following the directions provided in the Using Search article
- Refer to the Activate a Training Program article to activate the inactive training program.
ACTIVATE A TRAINING PROGRAM
A deactivated training program can be activated at any time.
Follow these steps to activate an inactive training program:
- Click the Administration tab at the top of the screen
- Click the Training Programs link, then Training Programs on the left menu bar
- Search and locate the training program following the directions provided in the Using Search article
- Click the training program to highlight the row
Note: To select multiple training programs, use Shift + Left Mouse click and or Ctrl + Left Mouse click - Click the Other Actions button on the tool bar
- Select Activate Training Programs from the pull down menu
- Click the OK button on the Activate Training Programs confirmation screen
Note:The training programs may disappear from the Manage Training Programs screen. This is because the selected view on the Manage Training Programs screen displays Inactive Training Programs only. Select Other Actions then Show Active Training Programs to return to the Manage Training Programs default view.

Follow these steps to deactivate a subject:
- Click the Administration tab at the top of the screen
- Click the Training Programs link, then Subjects on the left menu bar
- Search and locate the subject following the directions provided in the Using Search article
- Click the subject name to highlight the activity row
Note: To select multiple subjects use Shift + Left Mouse click or Ctrl + Left Mouse click - Click the Other Actions button on the tool bar
- Select Deactivate Subjects from the pull down menu
- Click the OK button on the Deactivate Subjects confirmation screen

- Select Activate Subjects from the pull down menu
- Click the OK button on the Activate Subjects confirmation screen
